This is the official page of the Hinchinbrook Shire Council. This page is used to provide information on Council’s activities, events, projects and news.

Council's Facebook page is used to actively engage and inform the community on what is going in on in the Hinchinbrook Shire. This page is used to actively engage with the community, allowing discussion and enquiries. We will log reports where possible, however we encourage you to contact Council directly on 4776 4600 for matters including:
- Damage of property and graffiti
- Tenders
- Breaches of any local laws including dog attacks, barking dogs etc
- Any applications lodged with Council
- Road damage including potholes

Our communications and customer service team will respond to enquiries during Council business hours from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Council reserves the right to remove posts and comments should any of the following apply:

- We think it is spam
- Links to non government pages – we don’t have the staff time to check the validity of the information so it will be removed
- No swearing - profane, obscene and violent language
- Content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, colour, age, religion, gender or national origin
- Defamatory or personal attacks
- Threats to any person or organisation
- Comments in support of, or in opposition to, any political campaigns
- Solicitation of commerce, including but not limited to advertising of any business or product for sale
- Conduct in violation of any federal, state or local law
- Encouragement of illegal activity
- Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public
- Content that violates a legal ownership interest, such as copyright
- Individuals who seek to monopolise and dominate Council’s Social Media sites for their own purposes

Please note that Council retains editorial control over all content and may exercise it’s editorial judgement at any time to remove posts or comments that Council deems as inappropriate for this site.
